Welcome to the new Complete Craft website and home of Quilters Companion online. Universal Magazine staff have been working hard over the last 6 months to update and revamp the Complete Craft website. Thanks to all staff involved in creating this great new site. With the launch of the new website we Editors have been given the opportunity to start blogging. I have enjoyed reading blogs by other quilt and fabric artists for a long time but this is the first time for me, so here goes. I will use this blog to provide you with a little insight into my comings and goings as I put together each edition of Quilters Companion and let you know about interesting news I come across in my travels and research. Now something to note in your diary, starting November 1, we are having a designer quilt sale to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. You have the chance to bid for not one but TWO stunning quilts made by two of Australia’s leading quilt artisans and in the process help find a cure for breast cancer. Helen Stubbings and Tracey Browning created two quilts, which appeared in the September editions of Quilters Companion and Homespun magazines, called Wisteria Rambling and Wisteria Girls. The quilts are made using Northcott/Monarch Quest for a Cure fabric distributed in Australia by Lloyd Curzon Textiles. These quilts will be auctioned on Ebay with all proceeds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. You can bid on the quilts from Thursday 1 November for 10 days. Please be generous as you will not only be bidding for a beautiful quilt which is Helen’s and Tracey’s original design and demonstrates their excellent workmanship but you will also be helping the fight against this devastating disease. Stay tuned to the Complete Craft website for further details of the auction including a link to the quilts. Clare Mooney |
